Time-domain analysis of motion transmissibilities in force-driven and displacement-driven structures

چکیده
A transmissibility is a relationship between signals of the same type, where the input and the output of the transmissibility are outputs of the underlying system. Transmissibility estimates are traditionally obtained using frequency-domain methods, which are based on the assumption that the input and output signals are stationary, and thus initial framework for SISO and MIMO transmissibilities that accounts for nonzero initial conditions for both force-driven and displacement-driven structures. We show that transmissibilities in force-driven and displacement-driven structures are equal when the locations of the forces and prescribed displacements are identical. We present three examples to illustrate this equality. & 2015 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Vibration Analysis of an Air Compressor Based on a Hypocycloidal Mechanism: an Experimental Study
In this paper, the experimental vibration analysis of a single cylinder air compressor based on a hypocycloid straight line mechanism (HSM) is investigated. The HSM mechanism uses planetary gears to convert rotational motion to purely linear motion. In the conventional air compressor, the slider- crank mechanism is replaced by the HSM mechanism with appropriate counterweights. The constructed s...
متن کاملSeismic Amplification of Peak Ground Acceleration, Velocity, and Displacement by Two-Dimensional Hills
There are valuable investigations on the amplification effects of the topography on the seismic response in the frequency domain; however, a question is that how one can estimate the amplification of time domain peak ground acceleration (PGA), peak ground velocity (PGV), and peak ground displacement (PGD) over the topographic structures. In this study, the numerical approach has been used for t...
متن کاملDynamics, Stability Analysis and Control of a Mammal-Like Octopod Robot Driven by Different Central Pattern Generators
In this paper, we studied numerically both kinematic and dynamic models of a biologically inspired mammal-like octopod robot walking with a tetrapod gait. Three different nonlinear oscillators were used to drive the robot’s legs working as central pattern generators. In addition, also a new, relatively simple and efficient model was proposed and investigated. The introduced model of the gait ge...
متن کاملForce Reduction Factor R for Shear Dominated Low-Rise Brick Masonry Structures
This paper presents investigation carried out, including experimental and numerical studies, on low-rise shear-dominated brick masonry structures for the calculation of force reduction factor R. Basic experimental tests were conducted on masonry constituent materials for mechancial characterization. In-plane quasi-static cyclic tests were conducted on twelve full scale brick masonry walls, to u...
